Home Floor Polisher
A Home Floor Polisher is probably one of the more useful appliances that you can have around the house for harder floor surfaces. While it is perhaps not used all that often, when required, it can reduce the work effort considerably. Frequency of use may be determined by the number of children and pets in the house. Or more seriously on the level of traffic in a particular area.
In recent years steam cleaners have been a popular domestic item. And while they are good good at removing heavier dirt and grim they cannot leave the floor polished to a high sheen like a floor polisher. Experience suggests while a steam cleaner will strip the floor clean of any dirt and residue it tends to leave the surface dull and lifeless, not bright and shiny. For normal household use, unless there is exceptionally high traffic, a home floor polisher is probably more versatile.
Many of these smaller domestic polishers have a multifunction capacity whereby they can be used as a scrubber, a polisher and a buffer. This versatility usually centers around replacing or covering the brush cleaning head in the polisher with some sort of pad. Many smaller polishers have twin, contra-rotating heads for stability, and these can either be removed or covered. Provided that the attachment mechanism is secure the covering option is the better one. No need to remove and replace the brush heads. Other than direct use of the brush heads for scrubbing, the pads usually cater for scouring, polishing and buffing.
There are a number of good models and options available. Most domestic appliance centers are likely to have them or be able to obtain them. Alternatively visit a specialist cleaning supplies store or one of the bigger home outlet centers. Names such as Hoover, Pullman-Holt, Werna, Electrolux,Bissell, Sanitaire and Koblenz are some that come to mind.
Take you time over selection, gain an understanding of the options and how they function. And then, if at all possible have a test drive, to see how they handle. Some seem to have a mind of their own when you first start to use them. However practice and experience normally takes care of this.
Then you will have clean, polished floors very quickly and with much less effort.
